PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity, checking the residual quantity of a linear body in a storage container even in a position away from the storage container by framing a plurality of bars to form a cylindrical frame opened at the upper part, and covering the cylindrical frame with a transparent cover to constitute the linear body storage container. SOLUTION: This linear body storage container for housing a linear body formed of copper, aluminum, or the like for storage/transportion is constituted by integrating a cylindrical frame 2 combining a plurality of ring-like bars 4, 4' and a plurality of vertical bars 5 and opening the upper part, on a pallet provided with discs 6 on the upper and lower sides and covering the cylindrical frame 2 with a transparent cover 11. The upper part of the cylindrical frame 2 is covered with a cover 12. When supplying the linear body stored in the storage container to machining equipment for wire drawing or rolling, the residual quantity of the linear body can be positively checked from a distant position from the storage container, since the peripheral wall is formed of the transparent cover 11.
