PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder with easy lateral registration and excellent convenience. SOLUTION: A holding plate 12 is slidable in horizontal directions (e, f) within the width of a slit 17, and can be fixed in an arbitrary position within the range. Thus, a transport roller 5 is slid in the horizontal direction through the holding plate 12 and held on a front plate 14 in an arbitrary position, and the sheet transport direction can be adjusted.
