PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission for a tractor having a simplified link mechanism between a shuttle transmission unit and a shuttle shift lever of the transmission unit by disposing them as close as possible. SOLUTION: A transmission for tractor is configured such that a partition 15 partitions a transmission case 2 into a clutch chamber 16 to house a main clutch 19 for connecting or disconnecting power from an engine 1 and a transmission chamber 17 to house a main transmission unit 24. Further, a shuttle transmission unit 21 has a synchromesh type clutch to change forward or backward movement by shifting a shifter 47 with a shift fork 50. A shuttle shift lever of the shuttle transmission unit 21 is disposed on a steering handle 7. A shifter shaft 53 to shift the shift fork 50 is disposed vertically in the clutch chamber 16 and an upper end of the shifter shaft 53 is connected to the shuttle shift lever.
