PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the automation by building a knock-out actuator for knocking out an upper die at an arbitrary timing during the elevation after the machining in a shank so as to arbitrarily set the knock-out timing. SOLUTION: A piston 2 is pressed by a coil spring 8 and abutted on an end wall surface 7. When the compressed air A is fed, the piston 2 is moved downward, and abutted on a rod 145 protruded in a cylinder 3 to drive a knock- out 140 downward and to drop a product. When a large pressure is necessary, an actuator is formed of a hydraulic cylinder. The knock-out actuator is of single-acting type, and its stroke is preferably variable. To arbitrarily set the timing to allow the compressed air A to flow in the cylinder 3, the cylinder 3 is operated by the signal from a rotary cam mounted on a rotary shaft of a press.
