PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain excellent coating without generating a streak even when rapid coating is executed by increasing travel speed of a web or a coating liquid of high viscosity is applied. SOLUTION: In a coating method using a rod 24 for a coating device, the rod 24 for the coating device is rotated conversely to the travel direction of a web 10. Further, when rotation rate of the rod 24 for the coating device conversely rotated is V1 (cm/sec) and the travel speed of the web is V2 (cm/sec), coating is executed by setting V1/V2 to 0.0001<= and <=0.06.
