PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording paper provided with the carrying properties in an ink jet printer and the coated layer strength required in the offset printing or the like while provided with the superior coloring properties and ink absorbability. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording paper, provided with an ink acceptive layer composed of a pigment and a binder as main components and formed at least on one face of a base paper, a 10% or more ash content, which is measured in compliance with JIS P-8126 except the condition that the ashing treatment is carried out at 500 deg.C for 4 hours, is contained and the 10 second size degree based on the Cobb method defined in JIS P-8140 is 7-50 g/m2. The base paper is coated with an ink acceptive layer of 2-10 g/m2 absolute dry weight containing a cationic light calcium carbonate as a pigment. |
