PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is used for pulling down a knitted fabric, has a simple structure, and can impart a uniform vertical tension to the knitted fabric over its whole width, in a flat knitting machine. SOLUTION: This device is used for nipping a knitted fabric 5 with a pair of rollers 6, 7 which are arranged below a mouth portion 4 between needle beds 2, 3 and extended in the width direction of the knitted fabric 5 and then driving the rollers 6, 7 to pull down the knitted fabric 5. Therein, a tentering bar 8 extended in the width direction of the knitted fabric 5 is disposed at a place near to the mouth portion 4 below the mouth portion 4, and the knitted fabric 5 is pulled down from the mouth portion 4, brought into contact with the tentering bar 8, and then bent to press the knitted fabric 5 to the tentering bar 8.
