PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing excellent in corrosion resistance, rolling fatigue life, wear resistance also provided with excellent seizure resistance as well as high core part toughness and capable of exhibiting excellent function in the fields of food machines, information equipment as well as the field of aircraft used at high temp. and high speed. SOLUTION: At least one among an inner ring, an outer ring and a rolling element is made of steel contg. 10.0 to 20.0 wt.% Cr, which is subjected to nitriding treatment or carbo-nitriding treatment to control the total content of nitrogen and carbon in the surface layer to the range of 0.5<=N+C<=1.5%, furthermore, the relation between the content of nitrogen and the content of carbon in the surface layer is allowed to satisfy 4C%<=N%, and the amt. of precipitates in the surface layer is controlled to 5 to 15% by area ratio.
