PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely determine knocking regardless of driving region, by extracting knocking information by a cylinder internal pressure, detecting load information of an internal combustion engine from one of the cylinder internal pressure and pressure inside an intake pipe, and determining knocking based on a compared result of the knocking information with the load information. SOLUTION: An extracting means 2a extracts knocking information from a detection signal of a cylinder internal pressure of a cylinder internal pressure detecting means 4. A load detecting means 2b detects load information of an internal combustion engine from one of the cylinder internal pressure detected by the cylinder internal pressure detecting means 4 and pressure inside an intake pipe. A knocking detection means 2c determines knocking based on a comparison result between the knocking information and the load information. Since the knocking is determined by the comparison result between the knocking information and the load information, the load information of the internal combustion engine is properly reflected on the determination of the knocking. Accordingly, when a load condition of the internal combustion engine changes, the knocking is properly determined while the change being reflected.
