PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a leno cloth having a great movement of a doup warp yarn and further a unique weaving surface unfound in a conventional leno cloth. SOLUTION: This reed comprises a reed frame 1 comprising an upper and a lower members 2 and 3 and a left and a right connecting members 4 and 5 for connecting mutual ends thereof. Many main dents 6 composed of a slender thin plate substantially bent into the shape of U are installed at an interval kept therebetween in the longitudinal direction in the upper member 2 of the reed frame 1. The many main dents 6 with curved parts downward are respectively extended from the upper member 2 in the direction toward the lower member 3 to positions where the intervals are provided from the upper member 3. At least one auxiliary dent 8 comprising a slender thin plate extends to a space between the upper member 2 of the reed frame 1 and the curved part of each main dent 6 in an inner opening of the main dent 6 and the inner opening is divided into at least two slender gaps in the vertical direction with at least one auxiliary dent 8.
