PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy cutting with very simple structure by bringing a high strength and elasticity web into contact with a pair of upper and lower shear cut slitter blades rotating in reverse direction of the web-feeding direction. SOLUTION: This cutting method of high strength and elasticity web comprises a shear cut slitter upper blade 13 of tray type blade, mounted on an upper blade holder 12 supported by an upper blade carrier 11 and rotation- drivable with a motor 14 and a shear cut slitter lower blade 23 of tray type or bowl type blade, mounted on an lower blade holder 21 vertically adjustable through a lift mechanism and rotation-drivable with a motor 24 and comprises sending the high strength and elasticity web through a supporting roller 40 at 10-100 m/min feed rate, rotating the above-mentioned pair of upper and lower slitter blades 13 and 23 in the reverse direction of web sending direction at 1,000-3,000 m/min peripheral velocity and touching the above mentioned slitter blades 13 and 23 to the cutting point of the web 1 repetitively so as to cut.
