PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant polycarbonate capable of providing a molding product having both excellent transparency and flame retardance by adding a compound having no exothermic peak in a specific temperature range in a differential scanning calorimetry to a polycarbonate. SOLUTION: (A) A polycarbonate is compounded with (B) a compound having no exothermic peak in >=220 deg.C temperature range in a temperature-fall process from 300 deg.C to -30 deg.C to give a flame-retardant polycarbonate in a differential scanning calorimetry to give a flame-retardant polycarbonate. The differential scanning calorimetry is an analysis procedure capable of simply obtaining various transition temperatures such as melting point, glass transition point, etc., calories required for them by the endothermic behavior of sample and a temperature related to structure formation such as crystallization, etc., a decomposition temperature and calories required for them by exothermic behavior. A fluorine- based compound is preferable as the component B and an alkaline(earth)metal perfluoroalkylsulfonate, a quaternary ammonium perfluoroa1kylsulfonate, etc., are preferable among the fluorine-based compounds.
