CATALYST FOR WATER TREATMENT AND WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for water treatment with which clogging of a flow route hardly takes place and which can keep a sufficiently long reaction time and can be produced at a low cost and to provide a water treatment apparatus using the catalyst. SOLUTION: A porous material having a water absorptive capability, preferably about 30-80%, is processed in a comb-like or a lotus root-like shape to obtain a support 1 and a catalytic component of mainly manganese oxide is dispersedly deposited on the surface and the inside of the support 1 to give a catalyst for water treatment. The flow route width in the inside of the support 1 is preferably controlled to be 20 mm or narrower. The catalyst for water treatment is packed in a reaction tower and also an ozone gas or ozone water supply part is installed in the packed layer to constitute a water treatment apparatus.
