The invention concerns a module consisting of two metal sheets (2) assembled by weld seams (11a to 11g, 13a to 13 g, 21a to 21g) defining between them channels extending between two distribution chambers (26). The module is produced by hydroforming by injecting a liquid through a hydroforming nozzle (23). The process for transforming the hydroforming blank (1) into an operational module consists in cutting off the ends of the modules to open the distribution chambers (26). The channels have a generally U-shape configuration and they converge towards each distribution chamber (26) while preserving a constant width. The invention enables to reduce to a minimum pressure loss and optimise the space requirement of the exchanger, its mechanical strength in the distribution chamber zone, and the distribution of fluid in the various channels.
