The invention is characterised in that it further comprises a device for analysing images and identifying defects appearing in the field of vision of the visual inspection device. Said monitoring installation can be adapted on oxyacetylene cutting plants so as to make the oxyacetylene cutting completely automatic. It can be followed by a scarfing installation automatically cutting along the detected defects.
