Before a wall (6) is built or tiled a bottom edge (11) is placed by ancillary tool by means of a sanitary unit support strip (1) which is bonded to the wall in the edge area (11) subequent to wall building or tiling etc, leaving a gap between strip and edge for the sanitary unit. The strip (1) is repeatedly holed to join the tool or wall and has a protending support (2) rim. The ancillary tool (7) is itself in strip form and holed for releasably joining to wall (6) and/or strip (1) and the tool baseplate (8) has angled strips both ends when using two supporting strips for the unit. The two strips when used can differ in length and breadth so the wider strip overlaps the baseplate (8) as against the narrow strip which is spaced from the baseplate at right angles.
