PURPOSE: A device for early warning of the sudden braking of a vehicle is provided to prevent a rear-end collision of a vehicle by promptly warning of the sudden braking of the vehicle to a driver of a following vehicle via a brake lamp. CONSTITUTION: A speed-sensing lead switch is installed on an operating rod(22) of an accelerator pedal(20). If a driver moves a foot to a brake pedal from an accelerator pedal in a sudden incident, the speed-sensing lead switch senses the foot step-off speed. The speed-sensing signal is transmitted to a controller(30). The controller lights on brake lamps(32a,32b). Since the brake lamps are lighted on upon the driver's step-off from the accelerator pedal, a rear-end collision due to sudden braking is avoided.
