Combustion engine fuel-injection system esp. for diesel engine

A fuel injection system for internal combustion engine includes a preliminary feeder pump (1) for drawing fuel from a fuel tank (3), a high-pressure pump (7) behind the pre-feeder pump (1) for feeding fuel to at leat one injector (9.1 to 9.4). A flushing line (12) branches off behind the pre-feeder pump (1) and discharges into the high-pressure pump for rinsing or lubricating the high-pressure pump with fuel. A valve is used in the flushing line (12) and only opens when a given opening pressure is exceeded and closes again when a given opening holding pressure is not attained.
