<p>A package comprises a container (1) having a top wall formed with a loop of weakness (6) bounding a portion (7) of the wall, and an opening device (3) comprising a pour spout (5) fixed to the external surface of the top wall around the loop of weakness (6), and a panel (4) fixed to the external surface of the portion (7) and connected by a linear hinge (8) to the pour spout (5) so as to be turnable about a substantially horizontal axis of hinging to turn the portion (7) about the axis and thereby break the loop of weakness (6). A pouring edge (5b) of the pour spout (5) projects forwardly beyond the external surface of the top wall, whilst an edge of the panel (4) engageable by a consumer to turn the panel (4) about the axis also projects forwardly beyond the external surface of the wall. It is thereby possible to improve openability, pourability, and re-closeability of the package.</p> |
