The plug pin socket contact (1) has a base section (2) with a pair of projecting spring contact arms (7) and associated plug pin insertion guides (8) at one side and a termination section (3) at the opposite side, for crimping to an electrical conductor wire. Each insertion guide is divided into 2 parts (8a,8b) by a longitudinal slit (9).
