The invention relates to a remote control for a whirlpool massage device with a hand-held control for sending wireless control commands to a control device with different functional units. The hand-held control is provided with control and display elements for the functional units which are used to initiate and then display different operational states. The aim of the invention is to provide a respective remote control which displays the operational state in a manner sufficiently certain to correspond to the actual operational state of the whirlpool massage device. To this end, the control commands sent by the hand-held control are picked up by the control device and are supplied to a processing control device via functional controls. Once the controlled functional units are adjusted, receipt signals are retransmitted to the hand-held control. Only when the receipt signals have been received by the hand-held control, the respective information is displayed.
