The hydro-dimerisation of aromatics in the presence of hydrogen comprises a catalytic process employing USY zeolite. The bifunctional acid catalyst receives eg. Ni or Ni-W and Pd or Ru as noble metal in a specific sequence, as hydrogenate metals.
