METHOD FOR HOLDING VIRTUAL COMPETITIONS OVER TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORKS, ESPECIALLY THE INTERNET

The invention relates to a method for holding virtual competitions over telecommunication networks, especially the Internet. According to said method, the competitors are made visible when a virtual sport competition takes place and they can compare with each other so they do not have to rely only on their own willpower for carrying out demanding training phases. At least two competitors are permanently connected to each other by speech input and speech output units, a video camera and a screen. They are connected to the Internet in a room designed for that purpose and they can see each other on their respective screen. The competitors determine before the competition the respective marginal conditions which are stored in a central Internet server. The competitors can visualise the effects of their head movements on helmet mounted displays. The invention allows the competitors to train with other people sharing the same interests and compare with them in sport competitions.
