METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SORBING

The present invention relates to the production of modified sorbants that can be used in sorption processes or as active fillers for polymers or as thickeners for synthetic resins, lacquers and paints. A hydrophilic material is first processed with dimethyldichlorosilane in a non-polar solvent and in an ultrasonic field, and the excess of dimethyldichlorosilane is removed by scrubbing the non-polar solvent. The liquid phase is further removed and the solid phase thus obtained is submitted to hydrolysis. The hydrolysis of the solid phase is carried out by processing the same with steam at a temperature of 80-155 DEG C and at a pressure of up to 500 kPa, or else in an aqueous phase having a pH value of 7.0 to 12.0 with a ratio between the solid and liquid phases of 1: (1-100) and at a temperature of up to 105 DEG C. This method improves the sorption properties of the sorbant, thus increasing the purification rate of an object from the sorbate.
