An electromagnetic device comprises a coil bobbin (1) supporting a magnetic coil (5), and a U-shaped moving iron (2) with one side (2a) sandwiched fixed ly between a pair of cores (3, 4) in a hollow (1a) of the coil bobbin (1). The other side (2b) of the U-shaped moving iron (2) is inserted in a hole (1c) o f the coil bobbin (1) and urged resiliently away from the side (2a). The cores (3, 4) are bent to form rising edges (3a, 4a) whose tops are opposed to the other side (2b) at a predetermined distance.
