<p>A high-pressure fuel pump and fuel feed control method capable of performing a pressure/flow control and a reduction in drive power of a fuel pump which feeds high-pressure fuel to a common rail according to the amount of fuel injection from an injector without generating any pressure pulsation in the common rail, feeding the high-pressure fuel to the common rail even when a flow rate control function is disabled, and also suppressing a pressure in the common rail to a specified value or less without adding any measure such as a relief valve, wherein an intake check valve and a discharge check valve are incorporated in a plunger type fuel pump and a pressure regulator is provided between a pump chamber and a discharge check valve and, when a pressure acting on the pressure regulator exceeds a regulating pressure, a pressurized fuel flows to the upstream side of the intake check valve through the pressure regulator.</p> |
