The unit consists of an end piece (4) connected to the end of a pipe (2) of diameter (d). The head (6) of the connector has a shoulder of diameter (D), which is greater than (d). A flange (8) has an oblong cut out of which part of it has a width between that of (d) and (D) and is mounted to articulate about one of its edges on the edge containing the orifice. The end piece of the pipe slots into this cut out, the shoulder (D) holding it in place, and a clamping lever (34) is operated to maintain the flange (8) parallel to the partition (29) of an open ended box (20) in a way that the head (6) of the connector (4) is pressed against a seal (30) surrounding the orifice.
