PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject engine oil composition containing an alkylthiocarbamoyl compound, and a specific amount of a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, also having a phosphorus content of at or less than a specific amount and excellent in abrasion resistance, cleanliness, oxidation stability, viscosity-temperature characteristics, etc. SOLUTION: This low phosphorus type engine oil composition contains preferably 0.05-8 wt.% alkylthiocarbamoyl compound of the formula [R1 to R4 are each a 1-18C alkyl; (X) is S, S-S, S-CH2, S-CH2CH2-S, S-CH2CH2CH2-Sd or S-CH2CH(CH3)-S], 0.1-20 wt. fold, based on the above compound, zinc dialkylthiophosphate, and has <=0.2 wt.% phosphorus content. |
