<p>The device is integral with the ignition switch, which is a multi-position switch with a single connection to the negative terminal of the battery at the fixed connection. It has connections to different parts of the electrical system through two contact areas (11-12) under the wiper of the switch. The switch operates relays two relays (16,17), and the various parts of the electrical system are supplied through the contacts on these relays. The relay contacts operate in conjunction with the contact areas of the ignition switch to produce a number of circuit combinations, depending on the position of the ignition switch, to supply all the principal areas of the electrical system.</p> |
