Plasticiser for poly(vinyl halides) and poly(vinylidene halides) such as PVC, which plasticiser comprises at least one polyolester built up from a 2-alykl-2-hydroxyalkyl-1,3-propanediol or a 2,2,-di(hydroxyalkyl)-1,3-propanediol or from a dimer, a trimer or a polymer of a said 1,3-propanediol. Acylation is performed to yield at least one hydroxyl group acylated with at least one acid component (i) and one or two hydroxyl groups acylated with an acid component (ii). Acid component (i) comprises at least one aromatic monocarboxylic acid or anhydride and/or at least one aliphatic monocarboxylic acid having 2-5 carbon atoms, and acid component (ii) comprises at least one aliphatic monocarboxylic acid or anhydride having 6-12 carbon atoms. |
