The insulation consists of single-piece insulating bodies (I) inserted radially into each slot of the core. The insulating bodies have wall parts (G;S1-S4;ST1-ST10) which are bent outwards onto an insulating base (G) and folded to insulate the core surfaces of slot interior and the slot exterior from the inserted windings. The insulating piece (I) may be a flat, punched or cut piece with bending folds or severance cuts for the bendable wall parts.
