The invention relates to a hollow filler block (10) for forming together with a plurality of other, similar filler blocks a filler structure for a reinforced concrete slab. The hollow filler block includes a top face (12), a front face (14), a rear face, two opposed side faces (16), an engaging formation (20) on or below each of the front and rear faces for engaging two of a series of spaced-apart precast concrete ribs so that the filler block spans between the two ribs, and an interlocking formation (18) on or below each of the side faces (16) for interlocking the filler block (10), side by side, with adjacent, similar filler blocks. The interlocking formations (18) extend from the filler block (10) so that when the filler block is interlocked with an adjacent filler block, a gap is formed between one of the side faces (16) of the filler block and the adjacent side face of the interlocked filler block. |
