PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high speed image recording with high image quality and high density by exposing a photosensitive body with a plurality of light spots emitted from a laser light emitting element without passing through a microlens provided for each light spot. SOLUTION: A plurality of laser light emitting elements 1a in a laser array 1 are driven by a drive circuit 14 in response to an image signal and laser light emitted from each laser light emitting element 1a is condensed at a point 6 through a field lens 2 before being focused on a photosensitive drum 5 through an orthometa lens group 7. The photosensitive drum 5 is turned at a specified speed in the sub-scanning direction and an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the image signal is formed on the surface thereof. Since the aperture of the orthometa lens group 7 can be set larger than the spot diameter of each laser light, high density image recording can be effected without lowering MTF. |
