PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject liquid crystal polyester resin composition that has excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance, particularly welding heat resistance and is useful as a heat-resistant material for electronic and electric parts by using carbon fiber that is surface-treated with urethane resin and a liquid crystal polyester resin. SOLUTION: The objective composition comprises (A) carbon fibers surface- treated with a urethane resin and (B) a liquid crystal polyester resin where the amount of the urethane resin is in the range of from 0.5 to 5.0 wt.%. The amount of the urethane resin is preferably in the range of from 1.0 to 3.0 wt.%. The amount of the component A is 5-100 pts.wt., particularly 10-70 pts.wt., per 100 pts.wt. of the component B. The component B preferably includes >=30 mol.% of the recurring structural units of the formula. The component B can include one or more kinds of additives, for example, a colorant, an antioxidant, a heat stabilizer and the like in the range where the additives may not damage the purposes of this invention.
