PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in the body of an AC generator for a vehicle and to suppress the vibration of an electric component and an end cover, by a method wherein a vibration absorbing member for vibration absorption is arranged and installed between the electric component and the end cover. SOLUTION: A protective cover 8 located on the outermost position of outward raduis of a small-diameter fin 501 as a rib 511 is extended to the radially outward direction between a pair of rectifying elements 504 which are adjacent in the circumferential direction, and the extension part of the small-diameter fin 501 is coated with a silicone rubber 600. That is to say, in a position which is closest to the rectifying elements 504, the small-diameter fin 501 is coated with the silicone rubber 600. By using the silicone rubber 600, a cooling wind which reaches a part near the silicone rubber 600 is guided strongly to the side of a main cooling-wind passage along the inside surface of the protective cover 8. As a result, this AC generator whose noise is low and whose durability is enhanced can be obtained.
