PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform column erection work efficiently and safely in the case that a crane can not be used. SOLUTION: A holding mechanism 4 for holding a column to be erected 3 is loaded on a mobile truck 2 in a state that the column 4 is erected and held in a liftable manner. The holding mechanism 4 supports and holds the column 3 by suspending it by a suspending member 10 from a lift frame 9 liftable relative to the mobile truck 2. The holding mechanism 4 is equipped with a rotation positioning mechanism 11 which rotates the column 3 held in an erected state about its axis. The rotation positioning mechanism 11 is constituted with a ring-shaped frame 12 installed around the column for holding the column 3, and a drive mechanism 13 which rotates the column 3 through the frame 12 by rotating the frame 12. A column 3 placed almost horizontally is raised and erected, then in this state, it is received by a column erection equipment 1 and held by the holding mechanism 4, the column erection equipment 1 is carried up to the position of erection, and then positioned and erected there. Erection is performed in a state where the bottom end portion of the column 3 is inserted to a pit.
