The invention relates to some electric resistors made of special cast iron, applicable to tramway accelerating devices provided with a stepwise regulation rheostat comprising an insulating cylinder provided with bolts for fastening the resistors. Said resistors are made of cast iron alloyed with silicone, are manufactured as trapezum cross-section coils and are secured to the insulating cylinder in several ways, in one of them, a steel rod (5) provided with grooves (c) is embedded, upon casting, at each end of the resistor (1), said rod being assembled with the fastening bolt (2) by a weld (3).
