PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute facsimile communication of high secrecy without anxiety by deciding at the time of calling to execute facsimile communication by either radio or a cable based on one communication mode selected from plural communication modes. SOLUTION: In facsimile equipment FS2 capable of facsimile communication by radio and through a cable, a control circuit 20 has a means for selecting a communication mode to decide at the time of calling to execute facsimile communication by either radio or a cable based on a selected communication mode. Now confidential communication is included as a communication mode to execute facsimile communication through the cable at the time of calling when confidential communication is selected, and to execute facsimile communication by radio at the time of calling when confidential communication is not selected.
