SOLUTION: In the method for generating a half tone matrix used for binary processing or multi-values processing that converts multi-value image data into binary data or multi-value data, an entire area of the half tone matrix to be generated is divided into a plurality of division areas, the half tone matrix for each division area is generated individually, and the half tone matrices generated individually for each division area are combined to generate the entire half tone matrix.
