PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the running of a magnetic tape in a recording/reproducing device by setting the winding posture of the magnetic tape with the upper flange of a tape reel used as a reference. SOLUTION: By a reel driving mechanism, a magnetic tape is wound around the tape winding surface 15 of the tape reel 13 of a magnetic tape cassette 11 at a winding rate of 2 m/s, and by winding tension of 65 g. On the magnetic tape being wound around the tape reel 13 by the reel driving mechanism, by the magnet 31 of a magnetic flux density set in the range of 12800 to 13300G using neodymium as a material, a magnetic field is applied in the upper flange 14 side (upper side in the drawing) of the tape reel 13 and from the position of a space L=10 mm with the upper surface of a cassette half 12 (a space between the magnet 31 and the upper flange 14 is 14 mm).
