PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and efficiently draw a pattern figure of an excellent design property on a sheet-like material. SOLUTION: In a decorative method, wherein figure is applied onto a surface of a sheet-like material conveyed by a sheet roller, nozzle holes of an ink jet printer head are arranged in a width direction of the sheet roller. By controlling discharge of ink by changing a volume of an ink chamber directly connected to the nozzle hole of the ink jet printer head by a control signal of a computer in which a pattern data of a design pattern corresponding to the pattern figure is previously stored, the pattern figure is applied to the surface of the sheet-like material.
