PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a display device to be multilevels and to be high resolution. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with a pixel part 101-1-4 in which plural pixel TFTs are arranged in a matrix shape, a source driver 101-1-1 and gate drivers 101-1-2, 101-1-3 which drive plural TFTs, a processing circuit 102 which converts m-bit digital video data which are to be inputted from the outside into 2m-n pieces of n-bit digital video data (m, n are both positive numbers of 2 or more, m>n) and a D/A converter circuit 103 which converts the n-bit digital video data into analog data and outputs the analog data to the source driver 101-1-1. Here, the device allows the processing circuit 102 to output the 2m-n pieces of n-bit digital video data to the D/A converter circuit 103 randomly and forms the picture of a frame by displaying 2m-n subframes which are to be formed by the n-bit digital video data on the pixel part.
