PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a double-face display on one substrate and to obtain a lightweight and small-size device by dividing the device into a first region and a second region and symmetrically disposing polarizing plates and reflection plates so that the first region displays in a first direction and the second region displays in a second direction. SOLUTION: A referential plane R is determined in a basic liquid crystal display device 100 in such a manner that characters, numerals or figures are displayed both in the direction A and direction B, and the basic liquid crystal display device 100 is divided by a specified proportion into a first region A and a second region B. A first front face polarizing plate 101 is disposed to compensate the phase difference produced by refraction of light in the process of displaying characters, numerals or figures. Second back face polarizing plate 102 are disposed respectively in the upper side and in the lower side of the first region A of the divided basic liquid crystal display device 100. Further, a second reflection plate 103 to reflect the light emitted from the liquid crystal to the direction of A is disposed in the lower side of the second back polarizing plate 102. |
