<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a gas comprising methane and hydrogen without emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, and to perform a power generation in high efficiency using the gas as fuel. SOLUTION: The subject synthetic gas comprising methane and hydrogen is obtained, first through the following processes (a) to (d), and then by removing both moisture and carbon dioxide from the gas produced from the process (d): (a) a hydrocarbon source and water are subjected to thermal hydrolysis at 380-480 deg.C to form a gas comprising methane, hydrogen and carbon monoxide, light oil and residues; (b) the above gas, moisture and the light oil are separated from the residues at the above temperature; (c) the residues thus separated in the process (b) is burned at 600-1,200 deg.C in an oxygen atmosphere to form a gas comprising hydrogen, carbon dioxide and moisture; and (d) the methane, hydrogen, moisture and the light oil each separated in the process (b) is reacted with the gas produced in the process (c) to form a gas containing methane.</p> |
