PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layered manganese dry battery superior in storage stability and discharge performance without using mercury. SOLUTION: In this layered manganese dry battery, plural unit cells are stacked. The cell has a container, comprising a zinc-carbon bond electrode plate 11 and a heat-shrinkable resin tube 12, a separator 13, an electrolytic solution mainly containing ammonium chloride, and a pellet-like positive electrode mixture mainly consisting of manganese dioxide, acetylene black and an ammonium chloride electrolytic solution. The electrolytic solution impregnated into the separator 13 contains indium nitrate.
