PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery engagement structure of a portable wireless telephone, allowing reduction in the number of components and assembling man-hours, and capable of having a sealed structure. SOLUTION: This battery engagement structure of a portable wireless telephone for retaining a battery 2 engaged with a portable wireless telephone body 1 and releasing the retention, has a tab 3 having a projecting part 12 connected to a rotation shaft 6, for rotating the projecting part 12 to retain the battery 2 and release the retention, and a tab lock part 39 retaining the rotation shaft 6 of the tab 3, formed in the portable wireless telephone body 1, such that the tab lock part 39 stores the projecting part 12 of the tab 3, when the tab 3 releases the retention of the battery 2.
