PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer a high grade transfer pattern by magnetic transfer from a master carrier to a slave medium without depending on a position of the magnetic pattern. SOLUTION: The magnetic transferring method is such that a single electromagnet having a magnetic field symmetric in respect to an axis of a magnetic pole is arranged at least on either an upper face or a lower face side of a slave medium 4, in a manner that the axis of the magnetic pole is parallel to the slave medium 4 face; that the slave medium 4 or the electromagnets 8, 8a, 8b are rotated in a track direction, with the magnetic field applied in the track direction of the slave medium 4 face; that, after slave medium magnetization is preliminarily done in the initial DC magnetization in the track direction, a magnetic transfer master carrier and the initial DC magnetized slave medium 4 are stuck together; and that magnetic transfer is performed by applying the transfer magnetic field in the track direction opposite to the direction of the initial DC magnetization.
