PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the environment dependence photoreceptor sensitivity, to lessen the electrostatic charge quantity difference of a photoreceptor at the time of fatigue and to prevent the degradation in electrostatic chargeability by repetition by specifying the contact potential difference to a vapor deposited aluminum surface of an intermediate layer disposed between a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer to a specific value or above. SOLUTION: The intermediate layer consisting of titanium oxide particulates and a resin is disposed between the conductive substrate and the photosensitive layer and the contact potential difference to the vapor deposited aluminum surface of the intermediate layer is specified >=+0.175 V. If the contact potential difference of the intermediate layer with respect to the vapor deposited aluminum surface is >=+0.175, more particularly >=+0.2 V, the photoreceptor which is sufficient stable and good relating to the environment dependence of the photosensitivity and the electrostatic chargeability difference between the first rotation and second rotation of the photoreceptor 1 is obtained. Also, the film thickness of the intermediate layer is preferably >=5μm. The charge generating material contained in the photosensitive layer is a titanyl phthalocyanine compound of which the X-ray diffraction spectrum (Bragg angle 2θ±0.2 deg.) has the maximum diffraction peak at 27.2 deg..
