PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of preventing the skin aging caused by active oxygen by formulating a vegetable extract excellent as a cosmetic additive from aspects of cost, irritation and effects and having inhibiting actions on the active oxygen. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including a fractionated substance prepared by treating an extract from an olive leaf with water or an ethanol solution by a column chromatographic method using a synthetic polymeric or a bound type silica gel packing as an essential ingredient. The fractionated substance is obtained by directly pulverizing, e.g. the live or the dried olive leaf, extracting the leaf with a suitable solvent at room temperature or under heating, distilling off the solvent, concentrating the resultant extract to 3-50 times, converting the concentrate into a 0-10% ethanol solution, providing a sample for filling, washing the filled sample with water or a 20% ethanol using the packing having 20-200 μm particle diameter and conducting the elution with a 30-60% ethanol solution. The prepared fractionated substance is preferably contained in an amount of 0.00001-5.0 wt.% expressed in terms of a dried solid in the objective composition. |
