PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the urine examining instrument which is able to precisely examine urine amounts over a wide range and can be made small-sized. SOLUTION: The urine examining instrument 100 is equipped with a urine receiving tank 101, a urine receiving tank thin-diameter part 108, a temperature sensor 114, and a refractive index meter 103. The specific gravity value is calculated from a relation expression of a refractive index, specific gravity, and temperature by using the signal that the refractive index meter 103 outputs and the signal that the temperature sensor 114 outputs. A pipe 136 for air storage is connected to the bottom 108b of the urine receiving tank thin-diameter part 107. A pressure sensor 107 for measuring the pressure generated by urine flowing in the urine receiving tank 101 and urine receiving tank thin-diameter part 108 is provided at the upper end of the pipe 136 for air storage.
